PERC™ technology operates on a simple principle: packaged HVAC systems are typically oversized by 10-20%, which leads to inefficient operation of the HVAC system. According to the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), packaged units only operate at design conditions 2.5% to 5% of the year, resulting in significant inefficiencies during the balance of the year. PERC technology allows HVAC system to function more efficiently by matching the output of the HVAC system to the load at any given time. PERC technology improves operating efficiencies of installed HVAC systems up to 25% when installed on existing heating and cooling systems.
